Built this house no basement!! Grade beam with slab on grade. The only hole in the ground I will ever occupy will be the very small one room apartment. Being in residential construction figured out that you can build way cheaper on top of ground than you can below grade. The other thing is when you dig a hole in the ground it will fill up with water no matter what you do. And that’s not an if that’s a when. I know a basement isn’t included in square footage for taxes but it still adds value although I don’t know why. My opinion
