My father in law has same problem. Has two pumps one runs basically non stop slows down a bit Jan. Feb. the other is a new one if the main one pukes and two 12 volt bilge pumps for back up if power goes out. No thanks don’t need that headache.

i got this pipe coming into the garage where the duster sits



never gave it much thought, other than that it was weird, but oh well

until one fall, we musta had a little higher ground water level then usual, and i noticed that when the sump pump kicked in, water started coming into the house through that pipe

had me stumped for a while, untill i noticed there was a little wood panel under that bucket



and of course, a second sump pit under there

im guessing the pump that belongs in there crapped out and rather then fixing it, the previous owner just covered it up



and off course, i got to have a generator for when the power goes out
