I consider converting my '71 Demon from manual steering to power steering.
I would use used Chrysler original pump and gear from a donor car, but I don't know if I would be able to re-use my original steering linkage (center link, gear arm and idler arm...etc) and steering column without modification.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks guys
I wish you an happy new Mopar year...

Original steering linkage is the same, make sure you find a small spline sector shaft, for the pitman arm. The column shaft will be too long and the splines to large. I think the shaft is adjustable so you should only need the power steering coupler. But it might be easier to get an "A" body power steering inner shaft with coupler and install it in your column.

I believe that the pitmen arm is the same, but you will have to change the coupler on the end of the steering column that goes to the steering box, they are different from P/S to manual steering...

This part ?

Is it easy to disconnect from the column shaft?

I would get the whole shaft, since the power steering shaft is shorter than the manual steering shaft.

I'm not in USA, and Dart steering columns are not very common in junkyards

Finding a P/S column shaft or simply a coupler will be an extreme sport...

I knew that, but if you find one it might be attached to the other...

So, just remains to find a Dart P/S column, but I'm reassured about the steering linkage compatibility.
Thanks a lot. :)

What is the donor car? If it's a '70-3 A-body (maybe even more interchange on just the shaft?) Get the center shaft along with the box, pump, brackets, and pulleys. If it's not an A-body, get the coupler and have your shaft shortened.

A rotten '70 Dart, 4 doors sedan, /6, auto, P/S, P/B.
For sale as a whole car, not for parts and I'm negotiating with another Mopar guy to decide if we buy it or not.

If yours is a slant 6 too, swap the steering from one car to the other and resell the parts car. If yours is a V8, the pump, brackets, hoses, and pulleys will be different. The steering gear and column will work though.
