I started replacing the entire front end on my 69 Dart GT Convertible after removing the 273/904 combo due to tranny problem early 2018. I was offered a low mileage 413 with a 727. Fast forward to now. New front end installed but not torqued. First question, do I use the same transmission crossmember?

thx
Kent

In case you don't already know about it, BigBlockDart.Com will have all the info you need. I browse the posts there every time I get tempted to drop a 383 or a 400 into my Dart then I see all the problems they come against and I figure I have enough problems as it is and continue working on my dart as it sits
Feel free to post all your progress here so we can follow along

I think I was there before BigBlockDart.com but thanks for the reminder. I read some articles before I bought my headers. I will visit it again ASAP. thx

What part of Sac are you in? We get up that way from time to time as my son and his family live in Grass Valley. We've done a few big block swaps.

I grew up in South Sac but currently live in the Natomas area. Have you done a 67/68/69Dart?

Yup. Two '67 Darts and three '67 Barracudas. My old hard top and my son's convertible. To be fair, though, we put the drive train from my old hardtop into my son's convertible after my older son put mine into a guard rail when he was 17. My '67 Barracuda has a 440/727/3.55SG drive train. The other two '67 Barracudas got 383s (one four speed and one auto). My son and his family lived in Natomas (on Natomas Crossing) for almost a year until their place in Grass Valley was built after they sold their place in Auburn. My wife's 340 GTS convertible will stay a small block.

Jim, it appears I need a new rod(attached to brake pedal) after I changed to a manual brake master cylinder or am I missing something. It appears to be a couple inches short.
thx

Manual brake pushrod is very different from the power brake rod/bracket. There are adjustable ones out there if you can't find an original.

I customized my power pushrod and made it adjustable. It's a rough version but it fit perfectly and it makes the brake switch without bending the bracket. Nothing on the front end has been torqued but that is my next goal and then drol the end/trans back in. Any advice?

I put a 383/727 into my 69 Dart GT convertible. I didn't have any issues. Pretty straight forward. I was lucky to get one of the last sets of Schumaker mounts and headers before his parts became unavailable.

I can't believe it has been 7 weeks already. I tried a couple time but couldn't get the eng/trans back far enough to get the trans bolted to the crossmember, about a 1/4" short minimum. After all that I started to think maybe my Qa1 K-member might be small block only. I looked back and found I bought it(2/2018) before the 413 BB was given to me and when I asked about fit I specified SB engine. Trying to verify I need another fn k-member and looking for info on a replacement, any suggestions?

The part with the offset studs is sitting on my steering box and would be worse when shifted back farther. I emailed Qa1 to ask for help/info.

Yeah. You can probably take a look at my Barracuda (at my house) and my son's Dart (at his house). There are some differences between the two cars, mainly his has a four speed. Hopefully next weekend I'll be at my buddy's resto shop doing the rust repair (quarter patches and trunk drops). Car still runs like crap, but we'll get to the bottom of that. I'm about ready to do a compression test. Might pull the plugs on his lift.

We'll be out of town the weekend of May 1 and might be heading to Grass Valley the following weekend.
