That's what we were going to put it in, an 87 318 w/302 heads (small valves) in a 90 W150. Using a 600 Edelbrock AVS2 and Performer intake, headers, and 3.55 gears for a nice torquey low/mid rpm's engine to drive daily, bomb the beaches and haul stuff, pull vehicles even. Just depends on what your intended use is
