A whole engine swap would be possible. The problem with that is, we have to go to mandatory inspection every two years. They know the engine identification number, that belongs in this car. If the engine has a different number, you won`t pass. Our law is pretty restrictive when it comes to modifications on cars. Everything i want to do to the engine, that isn't replacing a stock part with a stock part is illegal.
If i buy a new camshaft, for what type of cam should i go? The idle should be good and consistent.
If it has to be stock, I would buy a 340 cam shaft. It will idle nice and be a much better improvement over the stock 318 cam.
