I got the shape on the left with the shorter shank for $5 new Boeing 'surplus'....yeah OK. Have not hurt it in 10 years. Use some wax on it and it won't load up on Aluminum.
Yea I've seen people say wax or even dip it in ATF... I'm only using it on the cylinder heads but I hope they last a while. The long shank was 22 bucks, but the shorter shanks were 13-15 bucks.
