You own and love an original 69 383s, what’s next?

Do something unique with it. A high rev 383 maybe. Get another 383. Build a bulletproof bottom end for high rpm. Knife-edge steel crank with aluminum rods, light pistons, balanced, etc. Oil system to match, 1/2" inlet or better. Then a top end to match, Trick Flow or Indy heads. Match the cam and breathing, big headers, intake, etc. Find a proven combo to duplicate, and rev it to 8000.
