Motor mount question. I thought I had 318 motor mounts was going to use them on a 72 340. Driver side mounted with spacer but bisket stud was abought 1/2" from mounting hole. Engine is set right everythings square. I may have a truck mount. Anyway I cut the center out of the mount , thinking I can mount to insde of block mounts. Anyone see a problem with this. Mounts up fits good. I want to be safe
Sorry so long.

maybe a wider footprint for more meat in the bracket?

Looks like it might be tough to get the nuts on the bolts.
Not really already mocked it up. It will be close. I would preffer 340 mount but have had no luck. Dont want to pay $150 for a kit when I only need one

That or use Poly Locs. Thou they are expensive. I just put a set on my Dart.
I dont plan on doing any hard launching but then again I get a brain fart once in a while.
I think Ill box the biscuit. But still looking for
correct 340 mount. I just like to have things like they should be.

I kept ripping the mounts in my 69 Dart. So I went to Moroso solid mounts. Way to rough for me. So I wound up with the Poly Locs. Much improved.

Couldent you have maybe drilled the LH mount bracket that bolts to the engine and moved the rubber mounts location that way. Trying to look at your pix and figure out the exact issue.

Well, if he's making his own mounts.....? Could make them shorter to compensate for the brick mount.

I’m liking the yellow!

I never thought of that that would have been a possiblity

The yellow bracket is for a B/E car. Not for A body.

The ingenuity is neat. Functionality is not where it should be. JMO

Rather than making the mounts fit inside the ears make the mount fit as it is supposed to by adding some steel between the two halves and perhaps fill in and rotate the motor mount holes to the correct mount angle.
