It's not "triple chrome plating", it's triple layer plating, "copper, nickel & then chrome". After the initial polishing of the base metal, it's cleaned, plated with copper to fill any minute imperfections. Then it's cleaned again & nickel plated, then cleaned again & chrome plated. When I was in my teens, I worked for a guy who also owned a chrome shop, to earn extra money I worked at the chrome shop at night cleaning & polishing parts before they went to the plating side.
