I have done some deep searching and have found a Fuel sender that is NOT a cheap knock off that will read incorrectly.

The OEM factory number that is stamped on the sender is 4051003 which after doing some reading was the part number that replaced the older numbers.

My question is will this be the right sender for my 1973 Plymouth valiant? The one that I currently have in there is the long throw variant. Everywhere you look shows the one pictured for sale but not the right signal so inaccurate readings.

Hello C2ndLTpigeon,
If you do a search on senders there has been some extensive things posted covering this topic..
Can you tell us the manufacture and part number of the sender you found ?? I may want to do some testing on it if we have not covered it in the past..
You can find some good info on this post.
Close as you will come to getting an OEM fuel sender..
Keep us updated on your results..
Stay Safe.....
Happy Mopar :)

Hello Arron,

This sender is a New old stock Mopar replacement that is for sale. It for sale from a site that does nothing but sell factory parts. The part number stamped on the sender itself is 4051003 which comes back as a Chrysler part number.
Of all the reading I have come come across all the new ones are junk due to signal they put out. But I would like to know if this is the correct sender for a 73 Valiant before I purchase it as its not cheap.

Here is a post with the similar sender that was sold in the past
[SOLD] - Nos fuel sending unit

That is a factory Mopar number. That’s the only style I have ever taken out of a A body tank. From 1970 and up. Last 2 I sold 1 came from a 70 duster and the other from a 74 dart sport. Both had the same part number as the 1 u posted. My cars have all been Canadian models. 14 gallon tank. 4.54 litres per gallon. 64 litres. That’s a 17 gallon USA tank. Kim
