Part one of what made yesterday a shitty day.

Part two, about 2 1/2 hours later, turned a little too sharp, thought the truck was gone by the time I was turning. **** happened. :BangHead:

Sorry buddy that looks like ether a burn our you got your hand smashed.
The truck is fixable real fast but gonna take some time for your hand to heel.
Looks like he pinched it real good
And then poked a hole in the blister to let the pressure and the blood out

Yup, pinched it on a dock leveler that didn't lock properly, caused a string of profanity, it opened up on it's own, too much pressure I guess. Hurt like a sumbitch.

The owner of the pick up called me about an hour after it happened, less than $300.00 damage, but of course I have to file a report with the company and let them handle it.

One of the last times I drove semi at a food loading spot in Oregon I backed up to the dock and as usual set the dock plate and went into trailer to release the load locks and as I was stepping into the trailer to do that some one got in my semi and pulled it away from the dock that put me on the ground as I was stepping in the trailer. I guess I'm lucky I wasn't on a fork lift or pallet jack when that happened.
I bet you and I could talk all night about driving semi.

Wow, that's scary when some idiot does something like that. We had a similar incident in one of our other terminals where a shunt driver pulled a trailer out while the forklift was still unloading it, lucky the forklift operator felt the trailer move and stayed in the trailer.
Between driving truck and city transit bus for over 30 years combined, yeah, I got some stories. I have no doubt you have as many Fred.

Worked as a forklift driver loading motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet skis and even pianos back in the late 70's out of Washington State and got stories there but I got a feeling you got a pile of stories I'd like to hear.

Nite guys not realy feeling like chatting don’t want to offend anyone, apparently that’s passive aggressive I might just check out for a while cheers .

That is the reason they make ICC locks. I have seen guys pull out even with those and leave the ICC bumper locked to the building.

Had a guy at work lift up the dock plate and somehow he got his finger caught in the dock extension. Took the end off his finger before he knew what had happened.

happened to me once, i was working at a place in shipping/receiving
we had 16 docks

i was standing in between dock 11 and 12 chatting with someone as one of my hi-lo drivers was unloading the truck parked at dock 12
well, the guy i was chatting with had to leave, so i moved over one spot, and stopped in between dock 12 and 13

i guess my hi lo driver didnt pay attention and used me as a reference point instead of looking at the dock he was unloading and he pulled right into the truck at dock 13...which was just pulling out

the dock plate was allready off and as soon as he got in, the trailer took off

scared the snot out of him, but it he'd been 20 seconds later, hed ended up on the floor outside

Morning guys. Slept in again. Happening more and more lately. Must need the sleep I guess. Had a nice day yesterday but very relaxed. My buddy came over and we went for a walk. That was twice for me.
Spent some time talking to my kids and grandkids on video so that was special.
Can't wait till this mess is done so we can visit them in person.
Have a great day
