Wow, that's scary when some idiot does something like that. We had a similar incident in one of our other terminals where a shunt driver pulled a trailer out while the forklift was still unloading it, lucky the forklift operator felt the trailer move and stayed in the trailer.
Between driving truck and city transit bus for over 30 years combined, yeah, I got some stories. I have no doubt you have as many Fred.

happened to me once, i was working at a place in shipping/receiving
we had 16 docks

i was standing in between dock 11 and 12 chatting with someone as one of my hi-lo drivers was unloading the truck parked at dock 12
well, the guy i was chatting with had to leave, so i moved over one spot, and stopped in between dock 12 and 13

i guess my hi lo driver didnt pay attention and used me as a reference point instead of looking at the dock he was unloading and he pulled right into the truck at dock 13...which was just pulling out

the dock plate was allready off and as soon as he got in, the trailer took off

scared the snot out of him, but it he'd been 20 seconds later, hed ended up on the floor outside
