I agree on all counts, and honestly I'd like to know what those books are. Like you say, correctly so, I need to get my hands dirty. In fact, that's exactly how I learn. I read, get an into, put my hands on it, break it and fix it. Then do it again. i appreciate and better understand your point based on your update above. Thanks
My opinion comes off better in person than it does through the keyboard I often get a lot of backlash for that but I do not claim to be a writer or an English scholar.
