Those words absolutely aggravate me when I'm selling something. If I have a price on the item with no "OBO" designation, make me an offer. Don't ask what the "best price" is, because I'm going to tell you what I have listed. Anybody else have this issue(Duh)? How do you deal with it?

depends on where this takes place, i dont respond to anyone trying to make a deal over the phone or email
show up with what you are willing to pay, in cash or ammo, and see if i want to come down to it

online i tell em to take a hike

i dont deal online

get your lazy but over here and point out why im asking to much and you may change my mind
but online, nope

I think it’s a reasonable question and your method to answer is also reasonable, because there is always a possibility the perspective buyer may have something you want and that is why I always ask. And I also am prepared for a simple yes or no it’s the sellers decision if there is room on something that is for sale.

Depends on the distance. IF it's 3 hours from me, I'll need a few details more on item and I'll ask if the price is negotiable. I'm not going to travel 6 hrs round trip for somebody that says "I posted 3 pictures and a 2 sentence description". Naw.....

i was working on the assumption im not an idiot and my add is a little more clear then that
and of course, an email that says "can you send me a picture of where the rear exhaust hanger bolts to the frame" will get a picture of where the rear exhaust hanger bolts to the frame

I agree 100%. I'm not going to be a jerk about it. I answered him politely. I honestly don't understand why not just make an offer. You know the price, shoot an offer. Worst I can say is no.

I post detailed pictures and descriptions. I dislike that crap too.

and another thing...i think rule of thumb is, never offer less then 75% of the asking price
anything less is just offensive

so what is your bottom dollar?? (wait, what you selling?) LOL :poke:

I just tell them my best price is the one I agree to sell it for...and then I ask them what their best offer is.

I dot like "make me an offer" either. Never was a haggler, not my gift. "Whats your best price?...the one i put on it. Would you take 80%...no. 90?...no. I may meet you half way on shipping though. I bought the last 4 used cars at Carmax. No haggle. Fair prices. Good financing with my stellar credit. F all that "let me run thay by my sales manager" nonesense. You know they are only in there talking about last night with the cashier....I'm gonna start to include shipping into the sale price on parts. It's a drag selling something and then getting a shipping quote that breaks the deal.

First line in the add. "NO TRADES". First 10 replies "I have a pretty nice '01 Cavalier if you are interested in a trade"

I always try to price the item as fairly as I can. Haggling doesn't bother me. My Dad was one, so I picked up on it some.

And the amount of messages that say "is this available?" and then the person disappears is incredible too.
I literally had "buyers" with dates and times to get together. After several messages over a few days we agree... and aliens abduct them. Never to be heard from again

I don’t mind reasonable offers, but I list a item for 250.00 plus shipping, don’t insult me with a will you take a 100.00 shipped. I probably won’t answer you.
