....or within a couple hours?? Need to get my 4 speed for my Swinger rebuilt before I put it in. It’s a good trans but I’d like it bead blasted and looking new prior to install, plus all the seals and syncros checked out as well. Let me know.....Thankyou in advance!
-ps....I’m in Clinton Township Michigan myself, willing to travel a couple hours.

Liberty transmissions in Clinton Township Michigan. Google it Joe Liberty is a racing legend.
Thankyou again. Dropped my trans off today at Liberty. When I googled it, 9 mins from my house, perfect!

No, about half on the labor price as Brewers and I never checked w Passon, that’s a tad out of my way. $300 on the labor plus parts. Very nice group of people and atmosphere. NOOWWWWW as for the markup on parts, I hope I don’t get railed!! They showed me a A833 they just completed....beautiful piece of jewelry!!

FWIW, I rebuilt my own about 10 years ago. If you have a good book and quality parts, it is actually quite easy.

What tools would an average home garage guy need? Any special tools needed?

I know a press is needed....snap ring pliers, the rest I believe is kinda basic tools!

Normal hand tools and a good pair of snap ring pliers is all I used. I did not have access to a press at the time, so when it came time to press a bearing (if I remember right) off, I took the parts to Topeka Transmission, and for only $60 they pressed off the bearing, put on the synchronizers I provided from the kit, and pressed the new bearing on for me. The rest was just the opposite of the tear down.

Any update? Inquiring minds...
Lol....they said 2 months and I dropped it off January 15th or 16th, which ever that Saturday was! I’m anxious too trust me. I’ll give em a call within the next couple days and just see what’s up!

Not trying to get your anxiety level up, just curious.
I have mine out right now while refreshing the engine comp. and it has an issue popping out of 2nd. Trying to decide to take it in or DIY it

If you are mechanically inclinded you can do it but Liberty is hard to beat especially if you live in Richmond.
