There are 2 guide tracks on the rear window regulstor assembly. The front guide has a little wheel attachment that rides on the tracks, the rear guide just has a stubby ball attachment, no wheel attachment. Should the rear guide track have a wheel assembly that rides up it as well?

I asked because I spent hours yesterday trying to get it to line up with the front window and I didn't prevail...

the wheel snaps onto the ball. most of the originals have broken by now. i know mine are. i am just leaving my rear windows rolled up till i can afford the replacements. there are replacements available on ebay. they run about 20 dollars per side
 
If you can see down inside the channel. The wheels MIGHT be down in the bottom or in the body cavity. The MIGHT be intact and have just popped off , key word is MIGHT!

Ok that solves the problem then... ill stop ******* with the window, put the back seat back in and take the kids to the park...
 
one replaces everything in the regulator.

one is just for the rollers you were referring to.

might as well get the one that replaces everything in both sides for 20 dollars more
 
Also consider spraying lots of grease onto rollers, pivots and regulator teeth, on all four windows, so you can expect many, many more years of trouble-free use. p.s. Same goes for the plastic workings of signal light cam area. Replacements for this part very flimsy.
 
Those wheels should be made with a relatively hard and durable material like Nylon. Most 3d printers use non-reinforced and less durable materials like PLA or ABS.

I'd buy the replacements on Ebay and be done with it. They lasted a few decades in their first life - decent replacements should be good for a few more decades.

Alternatively, get some machined out of PTFE and they'll last an eternity!

Is the grease why it looks so gross down the door frame and the on window regulator. Ill make sure I spray it it.

What is the signal light cam area?
 
A good white grease is not messy or runny. Yes, it can attract dirt but usually it's clean inside doors, as air tends to move out (from interior) and not into those areas. Use just enough 'lube' to keep rollers and gears coated and only small amount of clear silicone spray in the felt channels that the glasses slide up and down on. You'll know there is too much if it appears on glass surface - but easy wipe-off. Also use some car polish on these surfaces to reduce friction from horizontal window felts.
When I mentioned the signal cam it was because this is yet another part that is prone to drying, hardening and cracking. The 'cam' is the part attached to signal light lever in column. Factory ones were fairly heavy duty but eventually failed due to age and hardening. Applying plenty of grease to all the surfaces will extend life to the cheaper replacements. Hint: if either side of signals won't cancel after completing a turn, part of cam mechanism likely broken. Sorry for a bit off the topic but whole point is that everything on a vehicle that moves will need some type of lube.
 
Excellent instructions for adjusting the windows in FSM. This might keep the new rollers from popping off or breaking...

My FSM doesn't have the instructions for it... I downloaded one from the moparts board(I think this is the name of it) though.
 
FSM for my 1970 Dart has detailed instructions (Body section) I doubt if things changed much between the two...
