There are a lot of mechanics out there that say "sure I can rebuild your 4 speed" but they often don't know the subtle details and differences between the 4 speed designs. You would at least hoped that they had a FSM for reference.
I would be wondering if there are any more potential problems that may show up later.

Only time will tell. The guy who actually rebuilt it called me back saying he bench tests everything and he didn't know what couldv've happened. He said the 833 is a very simple transmission to put together. He did say the clearance of reverse mechanism and the side cover is very tight and maybe due to the gasket being thin caused it. Just a guess on his part I think. I'm satisfied for now.
