I have been getting this steering wheel screech/grind noise ever since I changed my Ignition cylinder, Everything went back on like it cam off. So I decided to change the small bearing and it is still making the noise. Does anyone know what other component could be causing this?

Thanks

Here is a link to the video I made seems to happen more when I turn the wheel to the left.

I had this happen once when I reinstalled my column. After lining up the steering shaft with the coupling and moving things around to get them aligned on the box tightened in place....by myself....I somehow caused the upper bearing column snap ring to pop off. This caused a misalignment and my wheel was able to be slid up and down a slight amount...about an eighth of an inch or so and it was rubbing on the outer column. I knew something was wrong right away and broke it down from the wheel. Found the snap ring had popped right off.
I also had a horn ring contact that had spun a quarter turn on another car and after it had worn the contact wheel clean in half, that’s when it started to make noise with a slight movement of the steering wheel.
Good luck.

Ill try dismantling it tomorrow. When I reinstalled it the bearing went down far enough and the snap ring is on there. Just trying to see what else I should look for?

It is common for the graphite button that contacts the horn ring to have dried up gunk on it and make a screeching sound.
Try cleaning the ring and button, then a light lube.
I use white lithium grease on those. (Just a thin film)

Mine used to make that sound...
I did a Bearing, Blinker Switch and a Horn Kit.

Looks like all it needed was done grease on the underside of the steering wheel. The screeching looks to be gone. Thanks for the tips.
