Hi all, looking to match as close as possible 69 F8 green in a spray can. I know some will say to get a place to make/can a spray bomb. Up here the price for that is ridonculous, so not gonna happen.
Anyone know "off the shelf" supplier?
Thanks
Steve

You can GET F8 green in a spray can. At least I can. I can order it through O'Reilly here.

Here is one place I am familiar with. Touch Up Paint and repair | AutomotiveTouchup Their paint was an exact match the few times I used them. Granted it was for newer cars and I bought it in quart cans, but I was highly impressed with the quality and match. I went to their website and they did not have F8 green listed. However, they did say to call them at 1-888-710-5192 if you did not see what you wanted.
Here is the problem. If you went to 5 different places and had a quart of urethane F8 basecoat mixed, they would most likely be a bit different from each other due to variations in different brand's tinting bases. They would still be a beautiful F8 dark metallic green, but all a bit different from each other. The odds of you finding a spray can touch up that would match well enough to use for touch up is pretty slim. I wish you good luck.

I bought 3 cans of F8 single stage spray cans from a company called "OEM Paints"
Painted my engine compartment with it in 2013
The car was painted in 2014
The engine compartment is still wearing the rattle can paint.
When I tell people, they can't believe it...

Funny thing is, I just wanted to paint a replacement Black Battery Tray to match but there was a 3 can minimum.
The Battery tray looked so good we decided to do the entire engine compartment...
The engine was out getting stroked and poked.

I also used their Argent Grill Paint, Black Oganisol for the Cuda Tail panel and Blackout on my Go Wing. All products I would use again if the need arose...

I did use my remaining Argent on my 70 Challenger Grill restoration.
Sold the Challenger a couple month ago.

I called them and talked to one of their sales people for quite a while. He was very helpful and knowledgeable of which paints and shades were for which parts and years.
Been quite a few years now. I hope they are still around.

Good Luck!

I saw that stuff before googling, Lmao, $66 Cdn ain't happening. Thanks tho Rob. Hoping to find something up here as the "dangerous goods" and shipping is a close 2nd to a proctologist visit....
Crapped if I know. They carry so many different vendor names, there's no tellin what it'll come in. Nason, PPG, MasterPro is the O'Reilly in house name, but I'm sure they don't make it. Hell here's some on eBay. The kit comes with primer, base and clear. A little high, but not bad for all you get.

Aerosol Spray Paint for F8 Green Metallic Dodge Challenger (PFQ) | eBay

Thanks guys, I'll check them both out. I wasnt sure if Duplicolor had anything close or not. Car is in primer(mostly) but would like to hit some small pieces(hinges etc) with a spray bomb.
Thanks

OK then. if the car is in primer, it sounds like your car is being prepped for paint? If you you are not going to do touchup with with the spray bomb paint, I have a much better (I hope) idea. If you are going to paint the entire car, you should consider first selecting the brand of paint to use and have them mix some up for yo and put it in spray cans. That way when you paint the car, it will be painted with exactly the same paint the small parts were painted with. If you have a compressor and a spray gun, I think it would be better if you bought a quart of the same paint the car will be painted with and spray it on with a spray gun. I have painted lots of cars, if you have any painting questions, feel free to PM me. You told me you were only about 90 minutes east of where my daughter lives (Newmarket). One of these days, when the border opens back up and we visit her, I'll make the drive and we'll meet for lunch.

I bought a quart of enamel F5 green paint from a vendor on EBay in 2013 to paint my 340 hood. It matched my original paint really well with only minor tinting by my painter. Problem was he could not ship to Canada due Canadian to hazardous goods laws. I shipped it to my buddy in Niagara Falls N.Y. and picked it up there.

I don't see them on EBay anymore but they were called North Country Auto Parts out of N.Y.

The price back then was $26.50 for a quart. I remember him also selling spray bombs too.

Yeah Canada Post and Dangerous goods dont work anymore, and borders and me dont get along.

What was the shop charging for a spray bomb? I got a couple of spray bombs colour matched to my Scamp a couple of years ago at a place locally here and recall them charging me about $35 to $40 a rattle can.

I can't remember what the price was now. But close to $40 or so. I'm not looking for 100% match, just want to get some paint thats close to factory on some small pieces while trying to put the moneypit back together.
Thanks

Called Dodge store today. 1 available lol $16. Funny all the description on their parts system said was "touch up paint". No mention of color lol. In next week. Worth the gamble.
Thanks again.

Most likely the "New" F8 not the 69-70 F8
Probably close enough for small parts like hinges, etc.
You can see a difference in person but who's to say my F8 is correct?
We went off the recipe my painter had and the original paint in my door jam.

Yeah I'm not overly concerned on being 100% correct. I'm at the point(almost 30 years now:BangHead:) that I'll put the frickin paint on my way lol. If gotta roll it on I will :D

For sure it's the new F8 but I'm sure it's very close to the '69 F8 shade.

Please update us on what you got, brush or spray can.

Where is "dodge store"? Hell I can't buy a spark plug from our useless dealer in Midland...
