Well..the Duster sat for over a year in the garage....started it up about a month ago...notice smoke out of the passenger side exhaust...intake bolts were all loose...tighten up smoke gone...and checked valve cover bolts too...loose..tighten up...

Replaced thermostat with 180 from 160.....put some anti freeze in it.....it has been siting for two weeks now..
Started up and drove it over to the garage....temp gauge going up and up....

pulled dipstick...Milkshake..

Engine has good compression.....but I got a FEW sets of aluminum heads so these of cast iron heads are coming off....Gotta step up my game as the Dentist is going to have ported heads soon....

will drop heads off tomorrow at machine shop......they love me..

What do you think the cause is, just sitting or the intake leaking coolant in or cracked head????

Nooo!!! Not fair... Don't make it faster!

Ported heads? Me? **** at this rate with bending/ breaking burrs left and right my heads will never be ported... ill of spent as much in burrs as it would cost to just buy some speedmaster AL heads...

I think you should drop one of the "spare" engines in it  if you do decide to make it faster... or I know another car that will be your new engine tester... its kind of like an engine stand since it doesn't go anywhere right now...

Ugh. That's nasty - an observation from a card carrying member of the Milkshake Club.

In the late 70s, our /6 225 had milk shake and cauliflowers growing inside the valve cover, once in awhile, milk on the stick. Never did pinpoint the issue. (I was like 14 years old). That thing ran forever.

If you ran that milkshake I would be replacing all of the bearings too. Antifreeze and bearings don’t mix.

This is not my 1st milkshake....i will clean and flush the engine ....
This 360 is a MP crate 360 ....90ish LA roller block....020 over with seal power 116hcp pistons..low compression model....

Dont think a head is cracked...think it was the intake manifold..but I was thinking about changing the heads out anyway...

Water in the oil could come from several different sources. Cracked block would be the worst (and least likely) followed by cracked head(s), intake and/or intake gasket, and timing cover. If the engine is coming out, I'd do a full reseal to be sure.

Engine is not coming...the intake manifold bolts were loose....LOL...

Plus I want to put some fresh heads on the motor...

Ahhh man that sucks. Up, been down that road. Same deal. The brake was loose. I just cleaned it up the best I could and ran a few oil changes in it. Works just fine today.

Dropped the SM heads off at the machine shop Today...Worked on getting stuff unhooked from Engine...it will be probably a good two weeks before I get the heads back...
And it was rainy and cold today.....headed home for the sofa....

Got the old cast iron heads off today.....everything looks good....gotta do some gasket scraping and clean up...
Need to check my gasket inventory to see what head gaskets I got...Had a set of Mister Gasket 1121G on it...

Need header and intake gasket...pretty sure I got those..

Cleaned the hell out of the deck on the block......washed the milkshake down the pan...and out ....
Had a small change in plans......the SM heads probably wont be done at the machine shop for another 2 weeks....watch them call me on monday....lol

I have a set of Eddy head with very little run time on them....made about a dozen passes with them...I can see i changed out valve seals..and I set the spring height back then...
Spend some time getting the old intake gasket off...and cleaned the hell out of them.....and they are going to be used...

Got the eddy heads on ...torqued....got the tti headers on...pushrods...and stock rockers back in place...

Was going to use Eddy performer rpm that was on the heads because of the heat cross over...but the eddy heads have no manifold heat....or I upgraded to the Eddy Air gap...and it is just sitting on heads for photo shoot...

probably wont get it done until the middle of the week....as I gotta go take a trip on Monday....and need to pack some stuff tomorrow.....
