Anyone here ever buy New or Replacement Heads online?
Allied Motor Parts offers Free Shipping on Reman'd 302 Heads for $165each...
Anyone ever use them?
I just had a deal on a nice pair fall thru (on here) because of the shipping hassels
It was $110 dollars each to ship heads in Priority Mail Boxes?
So, that's over $300 for a pair of $100 dollar heads...
How do we do it around here?

Here's the Allied Link I found: Chevy Remanufactured Cylinder Head, Year:88-91 (alliedmotorparts.com)

Do a little research about the company and the quality of there product offerings. Use your gut and pull the trigger if you think it's worth it! 65'

Yup. Allied Cylinder head has a good reputation. I have a set of their heads on my 75 F250. Been on several years now. I took the original heads to the shop. I knew they were bad bad. Needed all new guides and seats. and a few valves. Was going to be like 450 to get them done. My shop guy called me and said he could get a reman pair from Allied for a lot less. I did that and have never looked back.

@George Jets bought a pair or so from Rockauto. They really look nice. 302 heads and cracking (post#20)

Just know that if it’s a reman they are only fixing what needs fixing to bring the head back to oem specs. One guide out of spec, they hopefully refine it , not knurl it. They won’t be relining all the guides if they don’t need it. Standard one angle seat and valve grind, no 3-angle or other multi angle job. All that is extra and if requested blows the low price out the door. I have this company not too far from me that I’ve used for various daily drivers (Chrysler 2.2, 318’s, 3.9 , a Mazda (Ford) V6 over the years, they even did the valve job on a vintage Triumph Bonneville 750 motorcycle head for me years ago. Dover Cylinder Head | Cylinder Head Repair in Greenville, SC They obviously can do it all if need be.

Those heads have oem valves, with the exhaust rotators. I would advise not getting this model from them. I can’t comment to workmanship but those parts are not great for any performance build. So now you need 8new valves, retainers, and locks just to have them stable for any decent abuse.
