Yes, 3 times now with 3 different NHRA officials in specting it. Maybe it is just the pictures that make them look bad. They are much better looking welds than what the pictures show.

For what my opinion is worth. Those welds look good to me and believe me I have seen much much much worse!!!!! (I can't stress that enough) at local tracks and tech doesn't say anything.

My buddies and who do the cage and chassis work ourselves have probably done over 40 cars between us over almost just as many years. They all always pass tech and are all some serious fast cars. Right or wrong, we are safe and having fun. That is what it's all about.
We were getting tech’d when we built the stroker. The tech had concerns over the brand new tranny blanket cause he was to lazy to bend down and see the date on it. I showed him pics and he said that wasn’t good enough. Then he said my brand new ATI fluid dampener wasn’t good enough. I had to complain to the other tech and the track manager. I had all the bills and pics. The car was finished the week b4. Never had any runs on it. Kim

@oldkimmer Damn racing in Canada sounds rough. Here in the states they wouldn't do that. Even the places that are super critical.

Yes, the tech guys can be anal. I get it. Lives do matters here. Our tech guys are harsh. I have watched them reject many cars before or after mine at chassis cert days. In fact at my last chassis cert the tech had me worried when he stood up after checking all of the under car bars and asked me what chassis shop built my car? When I said it was a home built car. He said, this is one bad *** mother f'er. Made me feel pretty good, and he was a die hard Chevy guy even....
