All it is, is an extra contact on the switch when you push the knob in. The switch has to be manufactured this way. DionR, I would love to have the part number of that 72 switch to you have in your car. If you can get the part number and post it here, that would be great. I have tried to archive the different year switch part numbers, but chrysler seems to have made a lot of yearly changes on these damn things for whatever reason.
