I had the same conviction. I just set the bar a little higher. When I did smoke. I would say the day $10.00 won’t buy a pack. I quit! Well it took double pneumonia and 20 days in the hospital. But I quit after 38 years in January 2013.
1974, smoking those long Salem’s, went into the 7-11 to buy a pack. Man said 34 cents, went up 4 cents in one day, told him to put em back on the rack, haven’t smoked one since.
