I just love old mopars and have been fortunate to have acquired several cars and a lot of parts.

Every once in a while I run across a part that just amazes me given that somehow, the part managed to survive "out in the world" for some 52 years. It is especially amazing when the part is a plastic hood scoop.

The blue 69 Barracuda that I just acquired had 71 Duster hood scoops on it. I think they do not look good on a Barracuda, but someone thought they did many, many years ago. So this prior owner went out on purchased two original, numbers sequence original Plymouth Duster hood scoops. Given the age of these items and the fact that they are OEM AND an exact matched set, the guy probably bought them off of the Part's Department of his local Plymouth Dealer.

I removed these hood scoops and cleaned them up and they are VERY NICE! They may be two of the best condition original Chrysler OEM Duster/Swinger/Super Bee hood scoops you will see in a long time.

Both of these scoops have no cracks or damage at all top or underside. there are a few paint chips but nothing that either an orbital sander or some glaze and primer won't take care of. All the mounting holes underneath are perfect with no cracks. The two OEM bezels are lightly "crazed" but do not have pitting. One bezel still has nice original OEM argent silver with flat black accents. The other bezel has had the paint removed but is also in very good condition with just the crazed chrome lines but no pitting. I only have two of the original mounting screws but YearOne has exact reproductions. I think each scoop takes 6 screws/bolts.

Both these scoops have the original "340 Four Barrel" chrome call-outs which are also in very nice condition with just the original red paint worn off. Both have their mounting studs intact and fit tightly.

YearOne has reproduction models of these scoops with new bezels sold as a pair for $428.00. Adding tax and shipping puts the final price at about $470.00. I know nothing about how the quality of these reproduction items or how they compare to the Mopar OEM models.

I do not follow the "whatever someone will pay" philosophy for rare mopar parts. maybe I should but i don't. God has blessed me with financial success and I want to help others enjoy and be able to afford this hobby. As such, I would like $300.00 for these two hood scoops with two bezels plus shipping cost. I think that is a fair price given that these are REAL original Chrysler parts factory number 95527 with each scoop having this sequence number: 2949194 and 2949195.

If you are building a "numbers matching" and "all original" Duster, Swinger, Super Bee or Coronet R/T, they you would want the correct OEM number sequence hood scoops. If you do not care about that kind of thing and just want a really nice looking car, the YearOne reproductions are a better deal for you.

I'll be happy to answer any questions or take additional pictures if you ask. I will try and post all the pics here, but i may not be able to get them all in.

Thank you for looking at these parts. Discovering such nice and original 1969 hood scoops sitting on the hood of a 69 Barracuda that sat in some guy's front yard for twenty years is just one more of those amazing "finds" that makes me enjoy this hobby.

The sequential numbers thing didn't mean anything.
One was drivers side, one was passenger side. Mopar used even numbers for one side and odd numbers for the other.

Just for the record they are supposed to be 8 studs on each scoops and the 340 badges on the scoops came off a 70 to 73 dodge Nice scoops
