The last time I ordered a 3/8 fuel line for my 64 Dart it came in a tremendously long box. When the line for my 67 arrived the box was only half as long. It is bent in a U. Is this how they deliver the lines now? Can I straighten this damn thing out without kinking it? I have never seen anything like this.

And your point is? You would need a semi to transport a line in a box without a bend in it. Straighten it out and install it.

As I said in my post I ordered one for my 64 before and it came in a long box perfectly straight. That is my point. If I wanted to bend tubing I wouldn't buy a ready made fuel line.

Takes a couple of strong thumbs, use your thumbs to support the bend and do a small adjustment, slide down an inch or so and do another tweak. Take your time and it won't kink

Brake lines come the same way. You can straighten it, just be patient while doing so. It's really not that hard. By the tread title, I thought I was kinked in half. You'll be fine.

Yes that is the way they ship them now.
I had brake lines and fuel lines come the same way.

Yep.
Both my fuel and brake lines came with a soft bend.
I was also kinda surprised when I first saw that.
But it straightens out, no kinks.

Get a 2x4 about 1' to 3' long and just walk it out flat with your thumbs or palms. So short gentle bends as you walk it out, it's pretty easy. Mine came the same way and the generic brake line I bought came in a roll and I did the same thing.

Well you can’t expect it to be shipped in a 12-14’ box. Be realistic.

I was a Ford Parts Mgr for over 30 yrs !! Received brake and fuel line assembly’s through out those 30 yrs not even in a box, and not damaged ! So yes I can expect for my fuel and brake lines to be shipped to me not damaged !! And be realistic about it !!

That's a different sort of logistics. You weren't getting parts one at a time, where you?

Depends on what I had to order ! Some were single some were not ! In the early years it was almost always a single line ! If you ordered a fuel or brake line today it would come as an assembly. Both together in most cases !

They’ve been this way for years, and are a snap to straighten. It even has the stickers on it telling you what to do and where to grab. You can surely do it, now get er done!

Been shipping lines like that for as long as I can remember. They are always bent in an area that should be straight. It should have a piece of tape or label where its supposed to be straightened. Sometimes you may have 2 or 3 places that need straightening.
It should take literally about 30 seconds to get it straightened out.

I just received a fuel line from Ecklers for a 55 Chevy I was working on. Came bent in half. Easy to straighten.

Everyone I've had was bent in half. One time I pulled one out of a box for a customer's car and bent it out straight just to find out that in order to install it it need to be bent in half first and then bent straight once in place LOL...
so I straightened it bent it back in half again and restrained it back again LOL...

I called one line manufacturer and they said they could ship streight but I would have to pay the additional shipping.

On the up side, at least they didn't cut in half.

Why you never throw out your old ones and use them as a pattern. Line straightens right out... even the stainless ones!

I'm just happy getting things delivered that aren't damaged. Some of the people that handle these pieces during shipping just don't care.

If they shipped in a 12 foot long box we would have a thread on shipping costs for a 1" diameter box.

Instead we get a thread on a company trying to cut down on shipping costs. Nobody is ever happy anymore, unless it came from china
