Switch to ethanol. The farmers aren't going to quit producing corn.

Uh, that's why I phrased it as "refining of anything into a motor fuel". If the government legislated a ban on motor fuels, they wouldn't leave an obvious loophole like ethanol. As the old saying goes, they may be crazy but they aren't stupid.

We can produce our own. LOL

One day we will be forced to deal with the real problem. Population control. Can’t keep adding parasites to the host. It will die.

Their economic life blood depends on oil too... and they know this. It's all about pleasing their voter base. Make a law, raise a tax, stop a pipeline, and in the end you'll still pull up to a gas station and fill-er-up. It'll just cost you a few more.... Again, if they believed this, they'd all scrap their Caddies and Jets.

Only one way to be efficient and profitable to use electric cars. Has to be set up just like gas stations now with a universal removable battery cell. Charge getting low (on the guage) pull into the station, attendant pulls yours installs a fresh one then checks how much is left in yours. If a 1/4 left you pay for a 3/4 charge. Station re-charges the cell for the next customer. I doubt they’ll do a dollars worth anymore. In and out in minutes just like a normal fill up now. Gas stations are still there, everything is still in place. Additionally each station will have a ‘charge’ for re-charging the cells, their profit

LOL, what “gas” stations??? Those are long gone. You won’t find a 7-11willing to do a battery change.

High tax state vs. low tax state. A business has to survive. Consolidation of companies owned under one umbrella. Happens all the time. 65'

Late to the party but had to clarify something.

Tennessee has NO state income tax, a visible plus for any relocating employees. Like other residents, I just hope the new inhabitants realize the benefits of living here ... oh, pardon me while I insert this pic of my bullet backdrop hay bale 50 feet behind my shop :D

... and leave their liberal policies, tax hikes, rainbow hair and KumBaYah where they moved from.

In Jersey you can’t fill your tank, an attendant has to do it besides plenty of Sheetz, WaWa’s and other ‘real’ stations are out there. Maybe there’re be a resurgence of the old way? There will be change!

Same in Oregon someone else pumps gas unless it’s a classic car.

And where is the power going to be coming from to charge these batteries? A coal burning power plant?

They don't.
I could give a very good recent example.
But won't.

Aint a simple battery either , from what I`ve seen , a group of cells wired together , not a 5 min. job to change them !

like I said universal fit, one size fits all. The theory behind mass production

Washington State has no income tax either, but public services (roads, state parks, etc) get funded from somewhere. Here it is sales tax and real estate taxes. The result is the less you make the higher your tax rate. If you retire and your income goes down, the real estate taxes just keep rising as property values go up, until you are forced to sell your house to survive. I wish we had an income tax here instead of what we have...

and by the way, I'm waiting for the environmental crisis when we have millions of huge, toxic lithium batteries to get rid of... as it is I have to go to the hazardous waste event every 6 months to dispose of lithium watch and camera batteries - compare that to the batteries in a honda or Nissan electric.

There's a place for it...
but you do have the advantage here because this is a radical right wing owned and monitored Forum so you probably can get away with saying whatever you want but when I say something it will get stricken down or I'll get locked out of the thread...
Ask me how I know...
Bro, I got spanked for having Trump as my sig pic! I'm still rockin' Reagan but for how much longer....Cali sucks for business straight up, even the Dem LA mayor admitted it.

Yup, told me to nix that pic in a PM. Too political. Maybe it was the STOLEN that was on the bottom of it....
