My home track Great Lakes Dragaway Union Grove, Wi 1971

-

Spent a lot of long weekends there in the 80’s. Attended many Olympics Of Drag Racing and various Mopar events there, camped out and remember like it was yesterday the morning wake up call over the crackly speakers “Danny And The Juniors” rock n roll is here you stay, Willie Nelson’s “If you got the money” and walking to the showers where they had a sign that said “shower with a friend always welcome” Boy did we drink a lot of beer there! Some good times for sure.

Yep, been to many. 20,000 crowds both days. Saw Shirley match race Big Daddy and also saw Bob Gilden in the Arrow there.

Late 60's early 70's drag racing was incredible! 65'

We used to go up there before they build the Route 66 track out here...

Saw some great ones at Union Grove; Don Garlits, Don Prudhome, Shirley Muldowney....

Great memories.... :D

I still go up there a couple times a year, always for the AMC/Mopar weekend and some of the nostalgia shows. If you miss the potholes in the pits you can usually have a good time...LOL

its awesome this stuff is saved for the ages, Broadway Bob was a great guy.

Die as it flew off the track to the right
Into trees and it disintegrated.....
