What is a cast iron 2bbl intake worth

-
I paid $80 for one Super 6 stack (no carb included) , for another $50 the guy threw in 2 peanut heads he had under the bench.
I paid $125 for my 2nd one back in Mar 2020 at the Indy Cylinder Head swap meet, like a month after I bought the 1st one. The $125 included most of the rest of a 1974 era slant 6. Most as in a basketcase engine in pieces minus pistons and rods. I have that block and crank in the machine shop right now, the basis of a replacement engine for my 85 D150.... the 1st super 6 stack is now on my son's 80 D150's slant. the 2nd one is going on the motor that is being built for my truck.
Lately I havent seen any super 6 manifolds on Ebay but there are some real idiots wanting STUPID money for single barrel intakes and STUPID MONEY again for used exhaust manifolds.... I mean I have seen brand new Dorman ones for not much more.... and there were a couple of NOS exhaust manifolds on there not too long ago for real close to the same money as some of these used (and maybe cracked) ones. Prices are all over the place, dont necessarily buy the 1st one you come across.

That said, before I came up with either Super 6 stack I had to pay $50 for a used exhaust manifold at a local junkyard and I tried to just get the stack, (1bbl) but the idiot counter guy at the yard tried to get me for another $50 for the intake....and I had to trudge thru the snow and broke thru the ice again, since he insisted I put the intake back with the car it came from... I'll bet that intake is still sitting there. I wasn't about to pay that much for a 1bbl intake, being mine is OK/ and knowing that I wasnt gonna keep this engine equipped with a 1 bbl for long.

whenever I think of buying anything there I scout around to see if anyone is selling one just like what I want. I just bought a new battery tester for $280, most other sellers were in the mid $300s to around $425 range for teh same tester and there was one idiot that thought his (IDENTICAL!) tester would bring him over $900??? Really?
I bought a set of slant 6 pistons recently for something in the $60 range for a set of name brand Sealed power ones.,..... how can some think I'm gonna pay $244 for the same set of pistons (no rings) from them? I got pistons and Moly rings from 2 different sellers for under $100 total.

I have figured retail on Super Six intake to be around $250 for years. Kickdown can run more! But I have bought them for $75 but NOT off FeeBay! Good source is the F body guys they are super cheap guys and hate slants! You will find them pickups too.

Personally, I wouldn't pay anywhere near $250 for a stock 2bbl manfold. Might consider that much, for a "COMPLETE" set up, with a good exhaust manifold, carb, air cleaner, kickdown linkage. The kickdown linkage is the hardest thing to find, but a cable kickdown can be used.

PS: I have a couple of aluminum 2 bbl manifolds (OEM two piece welded), but that's all I have. I'll sell all I have for $250 ea, and ship for free.

I never paid that price either and have had a few. But, they will bring that $ if someone wants one, can't find it anywhere and there it is listed on FB or FeeBay!
I had last year, a Tx 79 Volare wagon , rust free, complete non runner with a super six I could not get $500 for the whole car!!! Ha

I'd have bought that car!

I've still got 2 of them.
One cast iron and one aluminum with the funky porous welds.
I also had another one that was complete with all of the linkage etc. in a running Volare.
The car was rusty and had a broken ball joint, but is was a great parts car.
My brother had it crushed without taking anything off of it, and I was wild about it!
It wasn't even his car!
I then promptly claimed a car of his in lieu of the Volare, it was a '75 Dart Sport with a slant 6 and a 4 speed o.d. transmission complete.
It was rusty and had a broken torsion bar in it, but I used a lot of parts from it on my Dart Sport resurrection.
The link to it is below.
Tit for tat, and it all worked out in the long run, but I am still pissed about the Volare being crushed with a complete unaltered super 6 set up on it to this day...........
