Hi out there.
Am i the only one having problems with borgeson box with doug headers D453.
It is less room for the header after the change. much moore room to the frame.
I also had to move the pump plate so the pressure hose will fit. And make a new pressure hose. Did a simple mesure and lined them both up by the holes for the screw. the borgeson is 10mm or 3/8 closter to the head and the header dont fit in between.

Yes they are closer to the frame... you now have to shift, move, dent and grind until it fits...

What have all of you done specifically to attach the shaft properly to the new box since it's a bit off? Looking for suggestions. Thanks

Just loosen all the things ln the firevall. Loosen the bolts below the cluster and the end will move fine.

Was just curious to the upside of this unit over the stock mopar unit. Did you switch from manual to P/Steering? The Borgeson looks to be a lighter smaller unit, but costs more than a recondition of the stock unit.

A while back I put a set of Hooker headers on a 67 camaro small blk and had to go thru all the same bs. You would think Hooker would have them perfected by now. They must have sold 10,000,00 of them but they still didn't fit.

Less turning the wheel
More modern build
And of course more rolm for the headers and so on.

MUCH moore work then expected. Had to fix one tub at the header. Fix the hoses. Bend the tube at the pump for returnoil and on..........
But now it is running. Have some noise and groan when trying to steer. Both when sitting in idle and at crusing. More to the left then right but to both ways. Running semi syntetic oil. Anyone got the same problem? Will mineral help?
Done the bleeding by the borgeson webpage. No airbubbles in the oil. Printed all the papers at borgeson. Cant find any contact adress for mail.
I am out of ideas.

Sorry to hear that, they are advertised everywhere, no customer service? I went aftermarket front suspension, so I have manual rack and pinion. Could have gone with power rack and pinion but didn't want all of the extra stuff. I am 71, 135 lbs and I can handle the manual.
Good luck!

If you know about how much weight have you saved?

Sorry, I do not. I know that one place advertises a substantial weight saving, I doubt that. Maybe someone actually knows. I also went with a 4-link rear. So, I am coil over adjustability and adjustable shock dampening. Gerst suspension, I just read that he has paired up with QA 1.

Yes I had the same problems with my Borgeson/ D453 header combo. I had to beat the snot out of the header to dimple it enough to get both in with some clearance. The headers also hit the drivers side Torsion bar (.96 dia) and the passenger Tbar as well. Such a frustrating install to be honest. The Borgeson stuff I got from Bergman. Peter is a great guy and helped me quite a bit.
