Motor Mount Install Question

- 408 Stroker Engine

I test fit my 408 stroker today, just to check some clearances and to confirm that the motor mounts would work.

Went fairly smooth, buy I do have a question about the mounts.
I bought a set of Trans Dapt mounts. In the instructions, the pic of the passenger side has the weird little tabs facing the back of the engine. When I had them that way, I could not get the mount to line up with the K member hole, it was too far outside. I turned them around and was able to get it lined up.
- Want to confirm what purpose those little tabs serve, and see if they need to be a specific direction
- Why is the pass side mount thicker than the driver
-Also, just open to any general comments about the mounts

And what do the tabs do? Do I even need them, can I cut them off?
