Motor Mount Install Question

Ok, help me understand what is wrong about the kit. I'm not being a jerk, that's an honest question
No issues with asking questions...

There are 3 parts to the motor mounts.

  1. The brackets that mount to the engine.
  2. The biscuits (rubber insulators)
  3. The brackets that are welded to the K frame

OEM stock there are 3 (maybe 4) k frames.

  1. 67 to 72? (Biscuit mounts) \6
  2. 67 to 72? (Biscuit mounts) Small block V8
  3. 67 to 72? (Biscuit mounts) 383 V8 (maybe 440 is same,not sure)
At some point 73? the K frame got "spool" type engine mounts. I don't know if there are different k frames for \6 or V8s

The 3 (67 to 72?) K frames are different. The brackets welded to the k frame are different and in different locations.

The biscuits are most likely different.

And the brackets that bolt to the engine are different.

If you had a car that originally had a \6 and you wanted to put a SB V8 in it you can either buy an SB V8 k frame (OEM or aftermarket) and use oem style biscuits and engine brakets or buy conversion mounts which would come with engine brakets and biscuits that would make everything line up.

You can even get conversion mounts to mount a BB v8 in a \6 k fremame IIRC.

What it looks like you have is a SB V8 aftermarket k frame and \6 to V8 conversion mounts. I'm kind of surprised that you could get it to line up.

I believe what you need is OEM style SB V8 biscuits and engine brakets.
