I feel like the biggest dumb as*! I am in the process of rebuilding a thermoquad i bought several years ago at a swap meet. The boss where the idle speed screw was not drilled for a screw from the factory, so i drilled and tapped the hole for the screw. My idiot self drilled the hole crooked so now the screw misses the arm that its supposed to touch to hold the throttle plates open! If it were regular metal i would just have the hole welded back up and re-drill and tap it again, hopefully straight, but im sure this pot metal or whatever it is cant be welded. Any ideas of a fix?
Thanks!

You can drill and tap JB weld if it doesn't see too much stress. Might use a smaller screw to leave a bit more materiel.

I thought about filling the hole with JB weld but afraid that when i start drilling through it that the drill will try and follow the old hole..? I dont know..

Sure will, drill will walk to the softer material. Where are you located?

Spot weld a nut the same size as the threads flush on the end of the screw. Just make sure you have enough room between the hex of the nut and the body of the carb.

What's the carburetor number?

Not sure what you mean

Get a nut the same size as your screw. Turn it on so it is flush with the end of the screw, spot weld. You now have a bigger area to contact the lever. I probably have a top if no one else does. Post the 4 digit number off of the top of the casting. Carter only used so many different tops.

Its 9077s, Thermoquad

JB weld is about the same density of that metal so it wouldn’t worry me to fill the hole then redrill and tap.
Start from the other side with a small bit and work your way up in size a few increments at a time till it’s the size you need.
A small pilot hole will help keep your bit centered.

Only problem is how to keep it straight and not drill it crooked again?

No offense meant, but if you can’t drill something straighter than that maybe have someone else drill it.
An option might be a drill press.

Is there enough room to drill another hole up and over from the first?

With a different type linkage, you don't need a hole there. If it didn't have a hole there, my guess is you're missing that linkage.

You don't need to drill anything with the right linkage added. I see my recommendation has fallen on deaf ears so screw it.
