Imma Leave This Right Here......

Back in the 70s my brother was working in a hotel restaurant in downtown Winnipeg where all the big name wrestlers of the day would stay. Guys like Baron von Rashke and the Crusher, George Scrapiron Gadaske, the Gagne's, etc. They were all buddies who ate and drank together, the show was just a show.

My state never allowed WWF to come in the 80s when I was a huge fan. But when they did finally come out 5ish years ago. I wasn’t a fan and only knew a few guys names. I had more fun at that event then I’ve had at any College Football or Professional sports event. Even took my then GF with me and she had a blast also.

Ric Flair is still da man. He can still walk into any high end night club and walk out with the beautiful chicks. I used to see him every now and then in the 80s at Chasen's Lounge at the Holiday Inn in north Macon. Used to be a real swanky joint. He's a super cool dude. Used to sit around and shoot the breeze with him. He could drink us all under the table. That guy's a real legend. All I can add is WOOOOOOOO! lol
I got my fancy cars, I got my diamond rings....... well we know the rest! He still rocks!

I grew up in Atlanta as a young kid. Saw Abdulla the butcher in the Omni. Fast forward to 2021. I am in Saudi Arabia. The name Abdulla is everywhere. I can’t see or hear it with immediately saying in my mind “the butcher “.

Guy I know was trying to buy a rare Cuda with leather from the original owner for years. Guy wouldn't sell. Ric's truck driver spotted the car and told him about it and he went to the guys house and stacked some cash in front of him and he sold it. Guy went back and the car was gone and he was like WTH? Man told him hey it was Ric Flair with a stack of cash, what would you do?

I guess I don't understand why people hate on Tom Brady the way they do he brought more championships to New England then they will ever see again. And I don't see a lot of people rushing to New England for the retirement years I'm sure it's a great place no doubt but after being beat up in the NFL for decades I'm sure 70 and 80° days 9 months out of the year has a very large appeal. He played for New England and did a great job arguably the best of all time yes he got paid but they didn't buy him or own him!

Sorry , I have never been impressed with fakes , they had a couple of professional wrestlers come in , " one was danny hodge" , and set up a ring after football practice one time , we were standing at the edge of the ring , I never saw anything that disgustingly fake , haven`t watched a wrestling match sisce , no matter who it was---

Say what you want, but it takes more talent to be a "fake". Doing all those moves and NOT hurt anybody takes talent. Of course it's fake. There'd be a pile of dead bodies if it wasn't.

I don't hate him. I barely knew who he was before the stupid bowl. I cannot stand sports, I just thought the meme was hilarious and wanted to spread a laugh. Maybe lighten up?

Another tie in to my parts job, I was dropping off some parts to a gas station and the owner's son got super offended when I said WWF was fake. He lost his sh*t! Red faced, veins popping, yelling at me. Damn near looked like a wrestler. He was having none of it. Said it was more real than any other sport there was. I just laughed, I couldn't help it. The other guys in the shop thought he was gonna rip my head off.

So he agreed with Vince McMahon that it's not fake, like the Bob Costas interview, thought he was going to eat Bob.

The only other story I have, is when I was a teacher's aide in junior high, for the P.E. teacher. We had a student teacher, and her brother in law was Mr. Perfect. She told us about going to the weeding and seeing Macho Man Randy Savage hanging out and having a good time with Hulk Hogan. At the time they were having their super tense feud in the ring, but we're tipping back the booze and laughing it up. She said most of the big wrestlers at the time were there.

Freddie Blassie was the GOAT.
No Freddie Blassie, no Rick Flair.
Take it to the bank you Pencil Neck Geek !!!!

Until Kinji Shibuya threw salt in his eyes at that interview.
That ended the career of the great "Classy " Freddie Blassie. :(

Actually guys. The blood was real back then. They would precut making it easier to bleed mostly from the forehead. If you look at some of these guys. The scars are still there.

The geriatric bell for most of us.

WOOOOOOO!!!

I met Ric Flair at a Perkins in Orlando in the late 80's. I was sittin at the table with my parents and I kept lookin over in disbelief. Pop says to me, "go over and talk to him when he's done eating." So while I patiently wait I keep looking over at him. Bout 5 mins later he sees me lookin at him and motions to me to come over. I shake my head no. lol He motions again and Pop saw him this time and "says go over there!" So I go over there and Ric says to me, "kid, why didnt you come over here the first time I motioned to you?" I says "Pop told me to wait till you were done eatin'." He belly laughed so loud the whole place heard him. He tells me "you have some great parents." I says "I know." and I smiled. Shook his hand and thanked him and went back to my table. He came over to our table when he was leaving and told my parents that they have a great kid and that they are great parents. They graciously thanked him and he gave me a signed picture of him and he left. Then Pop turns to me and says "who the hell was that??" LMAO!!! Good times. Great guy that Ric Flair.
