James’ 1974 W200 build

I just thought of something looking at your transfer case. When I went through mine the seals for the two shift rails were shot from craposis being pulled into the seals when the rails move. I took some stiff 1/4" or so (can't remember the exact thickness) rubber sheeting and cut two rubber washers about 2-2 1/2" in diameter that fit tightly over the rails. I installed them before you put the crossbar on. These seem to really help protect the seals. Just a comment.
