My 318 head porting progress
So I decided to do a little bit of porting on a set of 80s smog 318 heads. Not looking for massive HP gains as im running a hughes whiplash cam which I like but I regret not cleaning up the heads when I built the motor.
Here are some pictures of the intake side ports I have started and am waiting on a selection of burrs I ordered as well as some sanding wheels to smooth it out better. I laid a 318 metal type gasket over the head and marked the ports to size. Even though I am running an Air gap manifold, and running a intake gasket that matches the intake, those size ports are too big and require too much material to be taken off to match. Does not matter anyway as I am keeping the 1.78 intakes.
I just wanted to make a post with my progress to make sure Im not screwing something up as this is my first time attempting this. Any tips are welcomed. 318Willrun's videos have helped me a bit.
