black widow mufflers

I responded to cudajames in my post about my dyno run from a couple of weeks ago:

A loud car is cool for about the few minutes it's idling and acceleration, but after driving it 20-30 minutes on the freeway, not so much. Black Widow mufflers advertising says it increases horsepower with less drone. Let me tell you that there is definitely some drone. Not to mention that I have no padding or sound deadener under the carpet. The 3.0" exhaust turned down before the axle just brings the exhaust smell back into the car. In my neighborhood, I don't want to advertise every time I leave the house and come home. I don't mind a good rumbling exhaust but what I have now is a bit too much for around town. At the track it would be fine and wouldn't seem nearly as loud.

They gotta snappy name so they gotta be good.

Right?

I forgot to add that I have the 10" Widowmaker mufflers. This is from their website:

With virtually no restrictive qualities, the Widowmaker 10" produces Black Widow’s signature aggressive and clean tone with a small 10” x 5” footprint. Ideal for tight spaces, the Widowmaker has a straight through patent pending internal hourglass design that allows for maximum horsepower and torque – and without a harsh drone sound.

do you think there wpould be drone if you ran the pipes out the back ? they don't seem that loud on the videos

Nat- I’m considering running the exhaust out the back and or just swapping the mufflers with some Dynaflows. Maybe even switching to a 2.5” exhaust system instead.

have you tried angling the turn downs 45 degrees sideways, so they dont hit the pavement straight on?

My Dart has 3" exhaust with Pypes Race Flows turned down right in front of the axel. There is no drone at all.

I have the Black Widow Race Venom mufflers. I bought the car with them. They sound pretty good to me but they are loud. This video isn't very good as I believe my car has a carb issue possibly the accelerator pump that I'll address in the Spring.

I'm going with TTI 3"exhaust system from headers to rear bumper and using dynomax ultra flows first choice or black widow 250/300 venom mufflers
