I have a 68 gts h code 383 automatic car. Got the car missing a bunch of parts mainly the drivetrain. The car came with the big block k frame, big sway bar, correct torsion pars and it was orig power steering. I’m having a 383 built but it was a b body block. I have the correct engine mounts. I’ve seen some pics where the engine mount bracket boss on the drivers side rear is ground off. Is that necessary or is that for 440 cars? If it does get removed where does the dipstick tube mount? I’m sure there’s guys more knowledgeable than me on the big block a bodies...thanks

Here is a picture of my 69 GTS 383 with power steering. Yes all the factory big block A-Body blocks had the rear motor mount boss ground off. I ran a Roadrunner 383 in my car for years without the boss ground off, so they really didn't need to do it. The dipstick bolts to the back of the front mount boss where the single hole on the big block A-body mount attaches.

Where does the dipstick tube attach? Is it unique to the a body?

And yes the dipstick tube and dipstick are unique to A-body cars, but re-pops are available.

Is that a numbers block? The rear ear is still on there. Did car have ps?

The factory did it for a reason. This is a 67 GTS and power steering was never offered, but maybe planned?

I've never removed anything for power steering, two 383s, one 440. 1969 C-body 383, home built DC k-member, power steering.
