So I ordered a Cardone 276542 off RockAuto, supposedly supposed to fit a ‘74 along with a ton of other Mopar vehicles.

It does NOT look like any Mopar box I've ever seen.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this style box?

I'm worried if it even fits an A-body!

Any Mopar people have experience with this box?

The mounting flange appears to be Mopar. However, keep in mind Mopars share a gearbox with some Chevy and GMC trucks through the 70s and 80s.

That said, it is indeed the oddest looking power steering "pump" I've ever seen. lol

Pump and gearbox together in one unit? Never seen anything like it.

Sorry, it’s just the gear box. I’m trying to fix the stupid steering on the damn car and it feels like I’ve been chasing my tail ever since I got it... ugh!!!

This is not an OEM gearbox, cores are hard to come by for rebuild so many of the "parts store" brands that traditionally have offered re-manufactured gearboxes have gone to offshore sourcing (China), this is a fairly new import and time will tell if they nailed it or failed it.

That would be a fail in my book. The engine flexes and the steering gear is bolted to the chassis.

If I were you I'd round up a used box and send it to Firm Feel for rebuild and pick a Stage of calibration. I have Stage 3 with a 900 psi Saginaw pump and it sweet to drive. My dad has the Stage 1 in his 66' Coronet 500 with a 440/4 speed and its way, way better than the stock box.

Any update on this? Did it fit? How does the box compare to an original box size wise?

Another source for rebuild would be Steer and Gear.
