Slant 6 engine builder in Ca?

Those will work.

Motive gear who makes the only gears for 7.25 is discontinuing there line, so ended up having to buy one of there last 4:10’s.
Hope it not to steep! Glad it will add some pep to my /6, but I feel like it’s ganna shift 3 times before 25mph haha.

You can control all that. With the tall tire you have, it won't be that bad. It'll be quite fun around town.

yup true!

got the gear vendor ordered up for my 74 duster!

Engine is BP 408 (465hp) Dana 60 end. Gear vendor recommended 355 gears, I was think 3:73 haha what do you think?

I have a machine shop that can bore it out, I did it to my inline 6 on my Jeep. But that was a lot, do they make a stroker kit for the 225? And I heard stroking it only makes it a 232 so is it even worth it?

what’s the easiest cheapest way to get a little more power?

Mmm gears- what gear would you recommend, still would like to be able to go 65 down the highway.
Easiest cheapest way put a 100 hp shot of gas on it

That 408 could pull a 2.45 gear.

Not enough different from 3.55 to 3.73, splitting hairs there, if I had one I wouldn't go through the work to change to the other ratio.

that what I thought to! I have to rebuild the Dana 60 anyways. I was thinking 3:73 at least but the Nick @ gear vendor said 80% of people would run 3:55. Would 3:73 be to jumpy to drive in the street?

If I were to use any style of overdrive, my minimum choice for gears would be 4.10.

with 4:10 gears and over drive in in third gear OD would be equivalent to 2:78 gears ya?

4:10 gears would make my trans shift to much before reach even like 30mph would it? 727 3 speed auto. Sorry so many questions but with the Dana 60 I have to take the whole axle out to change gears so would like to get it right the first go around.

What kind of vehicle?
I did my son's dana 60 while it was still fully bolted in his truck.

Wow talk about Overkill //sure it's a dana 60?

sorry forgot this thread was about my 67 cuda haha. It’s a slant 6 7.25 rear, will be easily able to change gears. All I could find are 4:10’s for that axle so I’ll be putting those in and report back

Id be upgrading that 7-1/4. No need for Dana 60 for sure but an 8-1/4 or 8-3/4 would be much better if you are adding any "more power" to that engine.
at a minimum Id be looking for a Sure Grip for it to spread the load out to both wheels..... maybe look for another 7-1/4 that has one and if out of a different series of car, swap the guts in. Unless I was adding some kind of overdrive I sure would not be stepping all the way to a 4.10. what ratio in there now?
