Yea we do have a land fill and lots of us in town had frozen pipes we replaced. I don't have a truck so will wait till spring to get rid of it I guess.

Saw it up in lengths and put it in your garbage can. One week at a time if you have to.

I design septic systems in Texas. Several thoughts -

1. If your lateral pipes are filled with frozen water, the gravel in the drainfield must be full and frozen as well. If the drainfield is frozen, you will still have problems.

2. Could you just rent a heated pressure washer to blow hot water into the pipes to defrost the laterals and the drainfield?

3. If this is going to be an ongoing problem, consider replacing your gravel and pipe drainfield with a drainfield that uses Infiltrator panels (if your state allows them). Look them up on the web.

In assume you have a septic tank? Maybe it's full Fred.
 
Morning guys. Going to be -2 and sunny today. I'll be outside today for sure. Have to get some shopping as well. I like the fact that it's staying light later in the afternoon. Almost 6pm yesterday and soon the time will change. Bring it on I can take it.
Getting rid of those pipes is like saying "I give a ****". Put them at the curb Fred and put a price tag on them sure as **** (no pun intended) someone will steal them lol

Thanks Bod that would be a good idea but I live in town and have city sewer.
First time this has happened and I hope the last. lol
 
36F here, but the wind is back, gusting to 45 mph currently, forecast to hit 60 mph this afternoon. Yesterday we got up to 38 or 39, wind was around 40 mph, not too bad of a day, got my dogs out to the park for a run, first time all week. I even spent a little time in the garage the last few days, had to swap out the steering column in the Bronco, a piece of the ignition linkage broke inside the column during the cold snap, had to hot wire it to get home from work, was driving my wife's car for a week or so until it warmed up enough to fix it. Just glad a had a spare complete column from an F150 I parted out a few years back, I would not have wanted to go the pick a part for a replacement.

And people wonder why we hold on to old parts. Throw one away and you need it the next week.

Not everyone knows how to hot wire a car or change a steering column.
