And where can I get a new one? They're not on rockauto.
My car was a theft recovery. This thing looks broken and it also looks like all these wires somehow hook up to it.

Photos and explanations would help so much!

I think that's what's left of your original ignition switch.

Darn! I have a column, not sure if it's '74 or newer. But you're literally at the wrong corner of the country!

I've got some column parts I would send you if you wanted them. Basically a complete column minus the steering shaft, but looks like you only need the parts up by the steering wheel.

An anti theft device that didn't stop any body from stealing your car. The bad part was the costly expense to repair all the damage. I know because my 80 Honda was stolen twice.

Well if anyone has a column, just send me a message. The locking cylinder will still lock into place and turn, but I may just go ahead and get a new column if one is available and not expensive.

Sorry to hear about your Honda. I've had a car stolen too. Sucks. This one wasn't stolen when it was with me. This is how I bought it. Previous owner had it stolen. They went through the trunk locking cylinder, so that panel will have to be patched as well in time. But cylinders are cheap.

The **** they sent me from rock auto broke! Brand new locking cylinder.

This is the price you pay for working in some parts of New York City. After 2nd theft put an alarm in and kid was in it trying to get radio out with alarm blaring. Thief was apprehended but, although radio wasn't taken, kid was home before me. This is how career criminals are created.

Seriously? an EIGHTY model HONDA?

Rock Auto ain't known for a lot of quality parts. I guess it's too late to tell you that.

That's what I said when it was stolen in 84 & then again in 86. I bought car brand new because I had a 50 mile trip 1 way to the city. Best car I ever bought because I never had to bring back to the dealer with problems. Kept it 15 years put 205,000 miles with original timing belt, fan belt and clutch. Some places you work in NY theft is rampant and so was burning and looting back in the 70's just like a certain group is doing it again today. As a FDNY member you don't always choose where you work, but do it because you love it and work with great people. It was actually a Civic with 5 speed that was bought for economy and I waited almost 6 months for it after it was ordered. That car made me a Honda owner forever. I had an 83 Chrysler that had so many problems and I tried to dump it under the lemon law but couldn't.

Sorry about your Honda. I don't know of any 1980 cars that were any better than a Honda. Certainly not any of the **** made here. All the early 80's US made cars that I owned were pieces of ****.
