Bad News About An Old Friend...

Alcoholism is progressive and fatal. I was going down fast. Thank God I got honest and sought help. Most don't. Anybody can p.m. me anytime if they want to talk. Prayers for your friend and the others still suffering.

Well I guess I know not to offer you a beer when you come over

I never get upset when someone offers. LOL I just say no thanks, I don't drink. God knows I've had my fair share and several other peoples! Hell, I'd be upset if somebody didn't drink around me because I don't. Doesn't bother me at all.

I seldom drink either. I have some Miller Lites in the shop fridge that has aged out.I got another 16 pack in the house fridge that has aged out. I keep it for friends that come over to have a cold one. That’s sad, I think I may need some friends?

Think of the money your saving. lol
If I was closer you'd get tired of seeing my ugly mug.

PLUS, he has covid and other health issues, not to mention I very seriously doubt he will agree to change his ways, even looking death in the face. That last one would knock him pretty much off the transplant list, not to mention the rest.
I quit booze 4 years ago in March when I was told I would die pretty quick if I kept 'insulting' my liver. Sobriety is way overrated but life trumps that.

I had a young doctor at the time, an academic fellow finishing up school. It's very rare to find a doctor you can talk to and have a chuckle with, but he was that and a really good doctor by the time he left. When times were hard for me I'd ask him what he thought of my 3-part plan B...1. stop all meds, 2. cancel all medical appts, 3. hit the pub. He'd laugh and and then describe what it would be like when the tacrolimus got out of my system, a drug with a 12-hour half life. So here I am. The only 'good' (lol) thing is most cirrhotics die from internal bleeding, which is purported to be painless or even euphoric. Throw in some strong opiates and there are worse ways to go.

Anyway I hope this guy enjoys what days he has left among the living.

Lost a good friend to the same. Tried to convince him to change his ways. He was way overweight too. Sure was a great guy. Went to soon.

Praying for your dear friend. Lost a friend almost 1yr ago. He didnt die from his liver, he was drunk and hit his head on a corner of his table. I hope it was painless I sure do miss him. RIP Big Mike

Lost my next door neighbor a little over a year ago. We were good friends. He got divorced and started getting 'navajo drunk' often. He fell off a ladder and died from brain damage at 48. Alcohol really is a dead end.

It can be. But not for the average moderate drinker. I never was one of those. I've never had a "couple" and headed on home, lol.
If I did it's cause I ran out..............
