short trim spears?

I don't know that I really care - my car is a driver and far from 100% original, but anyone got any idea why I appear to have shorter trim spears than any other Barracuda photos I can find for reference? Is this deliberate? A "mod?" Or possibly even the wrong part?

Just trying to see if anyone has any knowledge on this...

They might be the short Valiant spears That were on a 65 Valiant convertible I used to have
 
I've had 3 barracudas 2 65's and a 64 and not one had short spears like that. Somebody must of used body filler on the seam as the seam goes all the way down to the end of the long spears.
 
There has to be a sexual reference here?!?

lol! Just having fun. My 66’ Barracuda has full sized spears.
