Ordered a set of 240's for a stroker build. I couldn't believe how beat up these heads were. The double boxing they were shipped in were spotless, so definitely not the shipper.

Not only were both deck surfaces scratched to hell, but the one head was actually cracked! You could see with a flashlight the crack continued into the triangular water port down inside, but I couldn't get it in a picture. You can clearly see the start of the crack in the photo though.

Also looked like corrosion starting in one of the marred spots.

I didn't bother check over the rest of the heads after seeing what I saw, boxed them up and sent them back as defective. But I have a suspicion these will end up back on the retailers shelf...

So these are the first trick flow heads I've bought, tell me this isn't the status quo...

You get what you pay for with ‘truck flow heads’

Directly from trickflow?

Bought them through summit. Summit had been back ordered for a while, I spoke directly to trick flow about the back order time frame and they said they were shipping summit heads any day. About a week later they showed up. So I doubt they sat on summits shelf for very long.

Never heard any complaints, my buddy got his last year cnc ported the didn't have to do anything to to them perfect ootb.

Ya that sucks. Looks like they made a couple trips around the warehouse. Possibly ones that were returned and re-boxed. Contact who you bought them from and include the photos you posted. I had issues with rally wheels from Summit. They paid the return shipping twice and physically inspected the last set to make sure they were not flawed before they were sent out.

Summit was good about it and paid for the return shipping. Called them and they confirmed they arrived today with them. So no complaints there. Not sure where the heads will go from there. Not sure who to contact to get the photos too, to try and keep them from being resold.

I live about 11 miles from Summit and Trick Flow is right down the street a couple miles from Summit, can you get them shipped right from Trick Flow ?

Skim cut and send them out the door again. looks like the were repacked on a bench FACE DOWN.

Sorry to read, this is 1st I have read/heard anything bad. Hope it's a "one off". I would write in black sharpie on deck surface "returned damaged 02/25/2021" should help them from being sold again.

That looks like casting flash in the corner of the water port, not a crack. Shouldn’t affect anything. Scratches are no bueno though.

I suspected that too about it just being the flashing, my eyes are far from perfect, but with a flashlight, it sure seemed like the crack traveled another 3/8" into the port.

That would have been great idea with the sharpie, wish I would have thought about it before I sent them off. Going to call summit and discuss it with them further in the morning. Just hate to see these get sent out to someone again.

Unfortunately - they [TF] are probably forced to retain incompetent retards like every other industry within in the US !
Obviously they employ one on final inspection team !!!

I would have taken a light cut off each head and sent Summit the bill.

**** happens an guys get wadded up over things that in the big picture are much less significant that it appears.

The surface finish on the heads today is so fine that damn near anything will put a blemish on it.

They probably didn't leave Trick Flow that way. It's all in the handling. No reason to throw them under the bus. Who knows when or how it happened. As long as it's taken care of that's the bottom line.

Yep. Like I said, the modern deck finish for bimetallic engines using MLS type gaskets can get damaged in the box by the gorillas who load the brown trucks and the ham fisted drivers who deliver them.

My heads came in flawless and my machine shop had no issues after inspecting. I'm glad Summit took care of the issue
