I found a new set for relatively cheap and was curious what people had to say about them. Quality?

Thanks.
Jake

I have them on a 470 with Trick Flows. Solid cam 540 lift that sees 6800 RPM. Been on it for about 3yrs. So far so Good. If I was going bigger and roller I might get some Harland Sharps.

What is gain? Stiffer or more accurate than stock?
Lowdeck stroker. I wasnt plan on using stock rockers. There are a few other more expensive option but i figured id look for someone running them.

Usually no gains in power, but they all but eliminate valve stem and guide wear. That alone is really worth the cost.

Why? I've used Scopion (on Chevy/Ford/Magnum) many times and never had an issue. Their RACE series is rated at 950lbs open spring pressure which indicates the rocker is a strong piece. J.Rob

Yeah they're nice. Made in Florida USA.

Yup USA!! I actually told a bit of a lie--I HAVE run into an issue running Scorpion rockers a time or two and that was a fitment issue because they were so BEEFY. I was trying to use rockers in a misapplication and found they were so wide they interfered with being able to remove the headbolts with the rockers on--No biggie. They used to have a lifetime warranty--maybe they still do. Stout stuff and reasonably priced. J.Rob

I worked on a 440 in a Satellite about 5 years ago. Was a fresh build then. I was not impressed. Rockers wobbled on the shafts ever so slightly. Don't know if they're better now, but, there are better options out there. Ya pays for what yas gets.

Don't get Scorpion alum!!!
Could you elaborate!
I've been compiling some findings that has been brought to our "Chiefs" attention, "Fred" from Edmonton had 2 sets of chink brand rockers wreck the roller tip! The hardness of the wheel has been questioned. I got involved too, because a similar looking style is available to us. A PRW 455 Poniac, 2 different Scorpion SBC's, a PEP, a discontinued Comp BBC and a few of the ones in question were given a "hardness" test, using the Goodson ball in a tube test.
The winners by far were the Scorpion brand and the PRW's! the rest sucked.
More testing early next week on a set of BBC pro magnums will be performed, when they arrive.

Look on the net for Scorpion failures. One person didn't realise that the 'fretting' of the blue anodising was because the alum was stretching underneath. A timebomb in the waiting.

Is it possible you had counterfeits? Like I've said, I've used dozens of sets of Scorpions on brand X stuff and have only ever been impressed with the quality vs cost. With a .950" and 950lbs open guarantee and I think they still offer a lifetime warrranty (they used to) I still trust them. J.Rob

No, not counterfeits. The fretting occurred at the wrap around under the trunnion brg & also the roller tip axle.

That’s exactly what I was going say ! Guide and stem wear is amazing with the roller rocker ! Definitely a good choice

No question about it. Even if "somehow" they COST a little power, they would still be worth it, IMO.

I said I would, the stuff showed up and I performed the "hardness" test available with the equipment I have! I realize that this does NOT help @xLURKxDOGx 'cause most of this is not Mopar components that I'm testing! @PHR has a valid contribution, "Scorpion" isn't a contender in the "Mopar shaft mounted rocker selection option!
The BBC's and a set of "cast" SBC arrived, and once again I did the Goodson hardness test. My, once again, MY findings are the BBC Comp Cam's Pro magnum option tested really good! The SBC Comp Cam's "high energy" choice I tested was so-so.
See above for the previous testing results.
