Good afternoon all, i love the conversation.

Matt I'm not sure if it's an open offer but I love the template you came up with and I'm pretty sure it would fit my 66 Barracuda. Would you mind sharing in whatever way is easiest for you? Thanks.

Also I'm trying to make speaker choices while redoing my interior and have changed plans a few times but I think modern R and L tweeters in the dash 3 way mids in the kick panels would be great for the front. For the rear my Bcuda had 4x6's cut into the truck devider but I'm thinking of possibly moving those to the sides in the back where I found what looks like a single (passenger side) punch out for a 4x6. Though the drivers side might be tight with the fuel tank fill passing throughout. Has anyone tried this, how does it sound? And as for sail panels i liked the idea but just couldn't find anything I liked to match the OEM look next to the interior lights. And lastly a sub or pair of subs under the bucket seats is the hope if I can find something to fit. Any and all thoughts and experiences welcome.

There was another guy making these on Fabo, so I didnt bother trying to make n sell em, plus having to chain drill two 3.5" holes , then cut an x in the middle to break the pieces out as triangles, and use a rotary file on a high speed air grinder to file out perfect circles. Then theres standing, priming, and paint. I mean, how much could I charge for these? Now if I had a water jet machine at my disposal where I could knock out a dozen or so unfinished plates in 15 minutes then maybe I'd have something here. I made those 15 mins at a time 3 times a day during the week. First break, lunch, second break at work. Making the bracket and mounting holes is the easiest by far. Cutting out the speaker holes is what takes almost forever it seems, so the labour hours to make one is pretty high. As such I did this to fill a need for the 2 cars my son and I have, and to give to a close fabo friend in need. I am sure when Dan opened it, that it brought a smile to his face.

Swingingdart , and 69383S if your interested in one of these plates and are a DIY person I can just mail you a copy of the template, and you can whittle one out yourself. Or if you want me to make you one, I can. It may take some time however with my busy schedule I have going on, as well as having to make 4 speaker grilles up. Plus I have no idea what to even charge for these pieces because they are labor intensive to make. I think if I were to buy a 3.5" hole saw for the drill press at work, it would speed things up quite a bit, however since I wasnt intending to ramp up any production, I wasnt going to spend the money for that. I also use scrap cutoff aluminum for these at my job. This is stuff they are going to dispose of since it has no lot number or certification papers with it, or is too small for an aircraft sheetmetal patch. Getting stuff like that is a wait n hope sort of thing.
