That factory rear "speaker mount" is a 6x9 and is actually for the factory air intake grille when cut out for the rear defogger. Ideally you can copy that cutout on the opposite side if it will fit, and put the dual 6x9s in. The air intake grille actually looks similar to this design below, but with bigger holes, and was body color.

Thanks for the tips! I did not know there was an option for a rear defog I'll have to look into that, i have noticed the cut out in the molding on that side that looked like a defrost vent but didn't connect the dots. Maybe I'll stick with the truck divider mount but do a better job with my remake.

I have my original dash speaker so I may start there and try to make my own version on that dash speaker mount, i love the idea for stereo not mono up there.
