I will pick some up, some day in preparation for Bens next visit. I have several of his favorites on the shelf. He does like a good bourbon. To me being a neophyte taster, Bourbon amazes me at just how broad the spectrum in flavor is. It can be really really rough and super smooth. I am still learning but Bourbon confuses the heck out of me with its diversity.
Yep, me too. Every bottle is different. Look at Buffalo Trace distillery. Many of their labels are the same mash bill but just different ages, rick houses, and locations in those rickhouses. They are very consistent with their barrels and procedures. A lower floor makes for better bourbon. In front of a window makes a difference over a few years. (and the like)
